The Deputy University Librarian and Head of Library Systems subseries consist of the records of Marvin Bielawski. Bielawski served in a number of different capacities with varying levels of responsibility, including oversight of several branch libraries. The records in this group reflect many of these shifting responsibilities. The Deputy University Librarian is responsible for sharing general administrative duties with the University Librarian and for the execution of specific assignments made by the University Librarian. The Library Systems Office provides technology support the University Library. The records consist of email, word processing files, reports, and other documents created, used, and maintained exclusively on a desktop computer by Marvin Bielawski over the course of his nearly 40-year tenure at the Library.

The Library Offices and Departments series documents the work and operations of some of the major offices and departments within the Library. Materials include correspondence, reports and statistics, meeting records, policy and procedure manuals, and budgets. Owing to various administrative shifts over time as well as to the nature of the tasks overseen by some of the offices and departments, the records in this series occasionally overlap with those found elsewhere in the Library Records. Please see individual subseries descriptions for further information.

The March 2008 Accession subseries contains materials that document the Cotsen Children's Library's outreach programs, exhibits, camps and theatrical productions from 1997-2005, in both digital and analog formats. Additionally, blueprints for renovations of the Cotsen Children's Library and the Department of Industrial Relations/Education Research are included.
