Subseries 1B: Articles and Essays, 1966-2009
Collection Description & Creator Information
- Scope and Contents
This subseries consists primarily of drafts and associated research for freelance articles, mostly dating from the 1970s. Hall freelanced for a number of publications from approximately 1967 until 1986, including Rolling Stone and Esquire. This subseries contains only a small number of articles and does not represent all of Hall's freelance work.
Hall also wrote reviews and essays on the work of other artists and this subseries includes a few examples, one of which was published posthumously.
As is the case with most of Hall's creative material, some of the articles are directly related to research and writing that Hall was doing for other concurrent projects. When known, this information is provided at the file level. The name of the publication where the article appeared is provided when known.
This subseries is arranged alphabetically by title.
No appraisal information is available.
