Scope and Contents

Consists of long letters written by Marquis Du Bouzet to his mother, on folios of paper. The contents of the letters were written on both sides of the leaves (verso and recto). The recto of the second leaf of the original folio was wrapped around the first leaf, formimg a protective enclosure, was sealed with sealing wax and adressed to the recipient. The return address was written just above the wax seal, while the recipient's address was written on the opposite side of the folded packet. There is also the post office stamp over the recipient's address. All letters were unfolded during the organization and preservation of the collection.

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure.
