Collection Creator Biography:

Armstrong, Edward Ambler, 1858-1932

Edward Ambler Armstrong was a second-generation Irish-American of South Jersey birth who rose to wealth and top managerial positions in finance, utilities, communications, and transportation in Atlantic, Camden, and Cape May Counties around the turn of the 20th century. He was an avid collector of historical Americana, particularly letters written by George Washington.
