Sorted into five categories, the correspondence in these files consists mainly of letters from friends and colleagues and fan mail. There is a small amount of correspondence directed specifically toward Elise Asher, and another grouping of letters from neighbors in Provincetown, MA, many of whom did not include surnames in the signature. Correspondence is arranged alphabetically, except for in the case of the fan mail, which is arranged into folders chronologically by year.
