The Correspondence series includes incoming and outgoing letters written during Viner's career at the University of Chicago and at Princeton University. The majority of the letters contain scholarly discourse between Viner and his colleagues. Please see the subseries descriptions in the contents list for additional information about individual subseries.

The Writings series is largely composed of publications by Viner, including offprints and copies of published articles and reports. The subjects of his publications include international finance, international relations, international trade, post-World War II economic and monetary policies, inflation, international economic cooperation, critiques of United States government policies, the history of economic thought, international economic development, and Canada's economy. The series also contains bibliographies of Viner's work, his notes and manuscripts for lectures, speeches and unpublished works, and a small amount of research materials.

Scrapbooks mainly include clippings and occasional correspondence.

This series includes records of the American Whig Society transferred from the Princeton University Library Manuscripts Division to Mudd Library in 2008. Records include a diploma from 1773 of William E. Imlay, a document from 1836 soliciting funds for the construction of a new building, pages from the by-laws and constitution of the society from 1813, a letter from the Society to James Madison in 1802, and an 1802 circular regarding the fire which destroyed the library in Whig hall.

The Audiovisual series consists of videotapes and sound recordings documenting Baker's career in government and politics. The majority of tapes in the series are VHS videotapes of Baker's appearances on television news programs or recordings of television news stories that include mention of Baker. Some recordings of speeches and public appearances are also available. The videocassettes created between 1988 and 1992, during Baker's years at the State Department, often contain multiple programs or events on a single tape. In addition to the contents list, a more detailed index to the State Department "Master Tapes" is available in Box 262.

Series 1: Correspondence and Personal Material comprises the most voluminous series in Gillett Griffin's papers. Griffin was a prolific correspondent who often created several drafts of his letters and illustrated their salutations. Griffin filed correspondence in several different alphabetical runs. Some correspondence was also unfiled. The bulk of the letters were received by Griffin, but drafts or copies of his own letters are also present.

Consists of 46 postcard-size, black and white photographs of 33 people, including two self-portraits, taken and printed by Van Vechten primarily during the 1930s to 1940s. His subjects in this collection cover a wide range of celebrities in the theatrical and literary world, including ballet dancers, actors and actresses of stage and screen (some in costume), singers, musicians, authors, and poets--for example, Marian Anderson, Pearl Bailey, Sir John Gielgud, Hugh Laing, Sinclair Lewis, Norman Mailer, Clifford Odets, Jerome Robbins, Artur Rubinstein, Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, and Lin Yutang. Also present are two photographs (1923, 1930) of Van Vechten taken by the New York photographer Nickolas Muray.

Includes topical files, scientific information, notes, manuscripts of works, printed matter of various forms, class records, lectures, and speeches.

Consists of the novels, short stories, poetry, articles, notes, photographs, post cards, clippings, recipes, maps, architectural plans and more related to John Peale Bishop.

Consists primarily of genealogical material of the Bishop family as well as correspondence related to genealogy.

Consists of letters and manuscripts related to individuals such as Oscar Wilde, Granville George Greenwood, and William James Linton, as well as others.

Consists of the papers of Margaret Thorp, including writings, lectures, correspondence, journals, sketchbooks, and photographs.

Consists of Margaret's writings and lectures, including drafts of Charles Kingsley, 1819-1875 and Female Persuasion: Six Strong-Minded Women, notes of her subjects' lives, articles in various journals, magazines, and newspapers (1919-1924), such as The Smith Alumnae Quarterly, the Christian Science Monitor, Scribner's Magazine, and the New York Evening Post, and lectures on her writings, such as "The Lily and the Bloomer."

This series includes loose manuscript and printed documents and ephemera, including receipts and invoices, a travel permit, transcripts of BBC poetry programs curated by Mortimer, typescripts and galley proofs of writings of others, printed pamphlets Mortimer collected, and clippings about Mortimer.

Consists of clippings and "The Heritage of Edith Hamilton: 1867-1963" by John Mason Brown.

Consists of etchings, report sheets, sketches, certificates, and memoranda.

Consists of diaries, caldendars, sketchbooks, correspondence, and ledgers.

Subject files contain correspondence, photographs, articles, notes, drawings, and printed matter relating to the development of Brasilia, his work on various projects for the CIAM, and plans for a Le Corbusier exhibition; drawings, notes, and manuscripts of his research with Le Corbusier and Le Corbusier's own writings for Le Modular (1954), a system of harmonious measurement for architects and mechanics (the papers also include an original, hand-drawn, colored, and signed "modulor" tape by Le Corbusier); covers and layouts for the magazines Plus and Progressive Architecture; plans and articles on prefabricated houses and mountain shelters; and many plans, blueprints, drawings, elevations, and photographs for other architectural projects, including the New York World's Fair pavilion, the New York International Airport, a seaside villa near Athens, office buildings on Park Avenue, exhibitions for IBEC and UNESCO, designs and photographs (circa 1981) for the Museum of Modern Art on Andros Island, Greece, and houses and commercial buildings in Greece, Brazil, and the United States.

The Subject Files series is composed of articles and speeches, memoranda and correspondence, government reports, notes, statistics, and government committee meeting minutes collected by Forrestal related to his military responsibilities. Subjects include production and procurement, the progress of World War II, Forrestal's trips to war areas, the finances of the Navy, manpower and education, U.S. military personnel, the reorganization of the U.S. military following World War II, legislation that would affect the military, the role of the U.S. in the post-war world, and predictions for the U.S. economy after the war.

Consists of data, notes, graphs, photographs, and inventories related to the experiments of Walker Bleakney.

Department of Chemistry Faculty Meeting Minutes (1929-1993), photographs of Chemistry Department faculty, the chemistry department, and "Old Frick" (the Frick Chemistry Lab that was in service from 1929 to 2010), and related materials.

Series 6: Finances, 1930-1973 (bulk 1957-1972) concerns all aspects of the financial administration of the University, including budgeting, income and expenditure, and taxation. Many of the records consist of correspondence to and from Ricardo (Dick) Mestres, Financial Vice-President and Treasurer. The series begins with general files, which contain miscellaneous correspondence. Among the letters are inquiries from various countries, which include requests for financial support and patent offers.
